Customers praised these cycling/sports glasses for excellent coverage, comfortable fit, and versatile photochromic lenses that adapt to varying light conditions. Many noted impact protection during crashes and anti-fog performance. However, some found the photochromic lenses don't darken enough in bright sun, and a few mentioned sizing issues or lens-swapping difficulty.

Saved my eyes from gravel, took a licking, have kept on ticking!

Before having an accident I was already a happy bike camper. The glasses were comfortable all day, and with the Red Fotoc Clarion lense I enjoyed just the right amount of light without needing to change anything.

THEN I took a bad fall to the face cycling on gravel and these glasses barely took a scratch while protecting everything they covered. I had a slight black eye where they pressed into my nose so I knew they had taken a blow. Still, the glasses are fully usable, have a very small nick on the lens and are otherwise good as new.

Very comfortable

I’ve worn these for a few rides already some on the mountain bike and gravel bike and they have been extremely comfortable and don’t fog up like others. Highly recommend

Best pair of sunglasses!

I love the Sledge. I use them for everything. The lens does a great job blocking light from every angle and creating a great wind break for skiing/running in the cold. I especially like the adjustable earpieces that allow a custom fit that stays put. Tifosi is great about selling spare parts so I'm able to repair/replace parts that wear out.

Safety on this glasses is top notch

I unfortunately had a crash but this glasses did exactly what they were supposed to, they protected not only my eyes but my face as well, not to mention that they are super comfortable and adjust very well to my face.

Great sunglass

I love how big the surface area is for protection around the eye area. These are the first pair of glasses that I found that grip the head securely enough that I don’t need any extra security measures to keep them on the head, even on the roughest trails. The Blue Clarion lens is great for sunny conditions, it even puts a pinkish tint on everything. I also love the AC red lens for lower light conditions, it really makes the greens and blues pop. I bought an extra frame just for the red lens, so I didn’t have to change out lenses all the time. The only downside of these glasses I feel is that the rubber nose pieces are on stiffer side, and they press down on my nose bone when I am wearing my helmet.

These look good, feel good, and work great!

These are the best activity glasses I have owned. The fototec changing lense is awesome. They worked perfect for a 5 day bikepacking ride along the West coast of Ireland. Great in the rain, drizzle, overcast, and full sun.

Great Protection, Clear Vision, & Easy Lens Changing

Absolutely love the Sledge Have been using it for two years for road, MTB, & Cyclocross racing. Have been so impressed with the quality & durability of these shades. Have taken some falls with these shades and have hit a few branches while riding in the wood without damaging my lens or frames. I totally recommend these to anyone! Thanks Tifosi!

Best hiking sunglasses

These are the best hiking sunglasses I've ever owned. Really need to add a "hiking" activity to the menu bar. I would have died without these on my 6 day trek up Mount Whitney in July.

The Best

These glasses are super versatile with the three lenses included. They are not hard to change at all, and with the clear, slight tint, and dark lenses it’s the perfect combination. The awesome case they come in protects the spare lenses very well.

Great multi-sport lens in a solid frame

Originally bought these glasses for ski touring and they've worked great for that. Based in Squamish, BC so we get a lot of overcast and variable winter conditions. The lenses aren't quite as reactive as other photochromatic lenses (ie not completely clear, and not quite as dark as others) but for half the cost of the others you're getting an excellent bang for your buck. Perfect for overcast skiing. Coverage is great for both skinning and skiing. Not too hot on the ups and good coverage for the downs. These have replaced my googles for all but the windiest/coldest conditions, and I often leave my goggles at home. One less thing to change in the transitions.

I also use these as my mtb glasses. Great for laps in the forest, and evening rides. I find myself wanting a tad darker lenses on bright cloudless days, but if you have a visor on your helmet or are popping into the trees, these are great. I never really notice the lenses change tint levels, they just seem to be the perfect tint for most of my riding. My only complaint is that they can get a bit foggy on harder climbs, but they clear up well as soon as you start moving again. I'm not sure that you wouldn't get the same kind of fogging with other glasses.

TL;DR: Great glasses overall, great value. Very satisfied with the purchase. Could use a slightly darker lens on the brightest days.

Glasses are very light, and perform well!

I bought the Sledge Matte Black Clarion Blue Fototec glasses. They do, indeed, become darker with exposure to the sun (be aware, though, that they won't work very well at all when behind the glass of a windshield - most modern-day windshields block a lot of UV light already, and that's what the Fototec (e.g., photochromic) glass in these sunglasses use to detect light)). I saw no distortion in the glasses at any angle (good!). When the glasses are clear (e.g., low light), there is a very obvious center bar that basically disappears when the glasses darken. The glasses fit well, and don't slip when I get sweaty (I use these for mountain biking). I'm very satisfied with them!

Sledge Blue Fototec

These are finally the sunglasses I was looking for when I mountain bike. I was concerned these would be big for my female face since the model photo showed them on a woman and they look large on her. But they are fine and fit perfectly. So, don't go by the model photo. The clarity in the woods is perfect with the tint. Other sunglasses that didn't transition were too dark. I couldn't seem to find one with a light enough tint and the clear ones I got from another brand kept fogging and got dirty very quickly. I don't think they had a coating on them. And they were too expensive. Then I lost them on a ride. These were affordable and perfect.

I shopped relentlessy for an affordable Photochromatic lens and settled on the Tifosi after a friends recommendation. I'm stoked on the performance so far and excited to add more of these glasses to my quiver in the future. Highly recommend.

Great cycling glasses at a great price!

Happy with these glasses a purpose built for cycling with quality lens that doesn’t put my sporty Maui Jims not appropriate for cycling into the mix. I’ve ridden thousands of miles with this brand of glasses. They’re great. They handle various light conditions and they fit well under a helmet. Whether it’s the transition lenses or the different colors of swap lenses all of them have a use in my quiver for gravel and road rides. Also plan to bring them on a 10 day kayaking trip in a month.
