Tifosi Optics Dominates as Category Leader in Run Market

WATKINSVILLE, GA (February 22, 2010) – Tifosi Optics, Inc. is the number one brand in the Run Specialty Sunglass Category, in both dollars and units sold, according to Leisure Trends Group RetailTRAK™ point-of-sale (POS) retail sales tracking service for Run Specialty 2009.

Tifosi Optics’ dominant lead in the category is based on the company enjoying a 44.13% share of all sunglass units that were sold by running specialty retailers in 2009, a 33 point spread over the second place brand. Tifosi Optics also holds 31.65% of the total dollars spent on sunglasses at running specialty retailers, a 13 point spread over the second place brand.

Tifosi Optics also has all of the top 11 selling models, by units that were sold at running specialty retailers in 2009 including Tifslip-t-i045osi’s best selling SLIP and ENVY. These models have ultra-light Grilamid TR-90 frames, hydrophilic rubber ear and nose pieces, and ventilated lenses, making them ideal for runners at every level.

The IRRA’s mission is to “organize and strengthen the running specialty store business and to promote running as a lifestyle.” Tifosi Optics is glad to support this new and growing sport market and is excited to assist the IRRA in its ongoing mission. Many Tifosi Optics employees are avid runners and feel strongly about promoting the sport to others.
