Tifosi Optics Partners with Cycles Lambert

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

WATKINSVILLE, Ga. (Sept. 18, 2008) – In conjunction with the upcoming 2009 product release, Tifosi Optics has announced a new partnership with Canadian distributor Lambert.

The partnership names Lambert as the exclusive Tifosi Optics bicycle-industry supplier for Canada. Lambert will carry a full range of Tifosi sunglass models and lens options including Fototec, Polarized, Polarized Fototec and interchangeable systems.

Currently operating  in Quebec and British Columbia, Lambert distributes more than 15,000 parts and accessory options and services 1,500 retailers nationwide.

“We chose Lambert as our Canadian distributor for the bike market because of their success with brands such as Zipp and SRAM,” said Brian Kee, Tifosi sales manager. “Tifosi was looking for a company that would increase market presence and brand recognition with our Canadian audience and Lambert’s extensive sales and marketing resources made them an ideal candidate.”

Tifosi sunglasses will have an MSRP of CDN $59.95- $119.99, a retail sweet spot similar to the niche the brand has carved out in the U.S. market.

“Consumers are realizing that paying premium prices for eyewear only to have them broken, stolen, lost or no longer in fashion within a short period of time is just no longer a viable option, said Stephanie Monaco, product manager for Lambert. “In such a high-turn category as eyewear, Tifosi offers a very convincing argument that cyclists do not have to sacrifice quality and style to save their pocketbooks.”

Tifosi Optics is unveiling the 2009 product line at Interbike, September 24-26, 2008.

More information on Lambert their other brands is available at www.cycleslambert.com

Tifosi Optics, Inc. was founded in the fall of 2003 after CEO Joe Earley noticed a need for a technologically advanced, value-oriented eyewear brand in the optics market. Tifosi Optics currently has more than 3,000 U.S. retailers and distributes in 32 countries worldwide.

Ron Williams to compete in the 2008 Paralympic Games

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Two-time Paralympic medalist and Tifosi sponsored athlete Ron Williams will soon be heading to Beijing on a quest for his first gold metal.

At the tender age of 15, Ron was diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer that would ultimately lead to the amputation of his left leg and the end of a very promising soccer career.

After beating cancer, the ever-athletic and competitive teen took up water skiing and mountain biking.  Ron attended Georgia College on a partial sports scholarship where he captured two world records in water skiing: the World Disabled Slalom and the World Disabled Jumping records, both of which he still holds today.

Ron found road cycling – or rather road cycling found Ron – post-college during a mountain bike race in which a fellow competitor asked if Ron had ever tried road riding. Intrigued by this challenge, Ron bought a new bike and started competing.

Ron was good. So good in fact that he hired Lance Armstrong’s coach, Chris Carmichael and started training to compete internationally for the United States Elite Paralympics Cycling Team. During his tenure as a cyclist, Ron has competed in two Paralympics games and is the current Paralympic National Time Trial Champion. Ron is also a member of the Myogenesis Nutrition presented by Landmark Dodge Pro/Am Cycling Team, one of the top amateur teams in the nation.

Keep up with Ron’s pre-competition training at www.ronswilliams.com and be sure to look out for him in Beijing September 12 and 13, 2008 as he competes for gold in the both the Road Race and the Time Trial.
