Based in Las Vegas, Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing was founded in the 1990s and quickly and became one of the most successful off-road racing operations in history. The program set a new industry standard, earning championships in SODA, SCORE and SNORE, with more than 50 wins and 80 podiums. The program holds three consecutive class victories in both the Baja 1000 and Baja 500. Since entering sports car racing, the team has earned the American Le Mans Series GT2 Driver and IMSA Cup Championships in 2005 and 2006, as well as the Team Championship in 2005. Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning entered into a three year Dakar program in 2007, finishing as the second-highest privateer in the class. In March of 2007, Petersen/White Lightning began racing the Ferrari F430 GT in the American Le Mans Series.
